Dear AD, so the Rwandan dictator is preparing to host a “Rwanda Day” in Boston, USA. He has been intimidating Rwandan businessmen and women to accompany him to Boston. This after intimidating them to pledge millions into the so-called Agaciro Development Fund! In some cases Rwandan business people have been pressured to “contribute” to the fund not only where their businesses are located, but also in their home areas. They are therefore forced to pay twice. The “Rwanda Day” is yet another sham. The alleged reason for holding it which is said to be “an opportunity to showcase the country’s impressive growth over the last 18 years,” is a big lie. The real reasons for hosting Kagame’s day (not Rwanda day) in Boston include the following:
Boston is in fact Kagame’s home in USA. Kagame will be visiting his Boston friends who have babysat his children over the years – the failed son Cyomoro studied there, and Ange Kagame is still studying there.
Kagame’s influential supporters live in Boston, including Michael Porter and Michael Fairbanks, the core of Kagame power base in America. These individuals are also Kagame’s business partners. As was stated by Jeff Chu in “Rwanda Rising”, Kagame “plowed an eight-figure sum into a small U.S. biotech company…The money came from the nation’s social-security funds, which led the company’s CEO to fret that if the FDA doesn’t approve the firm’s therapies, he won’t be losing the money of just another multimillionaire investor but of an entire country — and one of the poorest at that.” Porter and Fairbanks are also shareholders in the biotech firm.
The Rwandan dictator is now an international outcast, accused of atrocities in DRC, holding political prisoners in Rwanda and terrorizing the country and region. Donors have cut or suspended aid. Even fellow African leaders such as those in SADC cannot stand the butcher. He therefore needs a bogus event “restore” his shattered “reputation.”
Kagame will spend our tax money to ship hundreds of worshippers and sycophants from Rwanda and from elsewhere. This rent-a-crowd is simply too expensive in poverty-stricken country Kagame pretends he is modernizing.
AD, help us to mobilize against the Rwandan butcher please!
We say no to Boston’s Kagame Day. Stop this bogus event by any peaceful means possible.
